Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win most extended trades because Karthus has no mobility or burst to punish you, and your passive aura combined with W shield sustain outpaces his Q poke damage over time.
- Post-6, you hard win by ulting Karthus, stealing his AP and other stats, then killing him in the Death Realm where his passive is irrelevant since you're isolated from the map.
How to Trade
- Walk up to proc your passive stacks with auto-attacks and Q, then use E to pull him into your aura range and activate W to heal back his Q chip damage.
- The key is staying in his face consistently — he cannot disengage or punish your aggression, so every extended trade favors you as long as you maintain passive stacks.
Wave Control
- You want to freeze or slow-push the wave to keep Karthus near your side of the lane, denying him safe Q farming and forcing him to take your passive aura damage to CS.
- Avoid letting him shove freely because a pushed wave gives him safety to poke you from range while you're stuck farming under tower.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not ult Karthus when he is low enough to die from his own passive — if he dies inside the Death Realm, his passive activates and he deals massive damage to you in a confined space with no escape.
- Always confirm the kill before his passive triggers, or ult him at higher HP to ensure you kill him before he reaches low enough health to activate it.
