Who Wins
- You lose early trades levels 1-3 due to Malphite's Q poke and armor scaling, but his mana costs are high.
- At level 6, you gain kill pressure with R if you can dodge his R combo, though he becomes much tankier.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to Q onto him when his Q is on cooldown, auto-attack with E active, then back off before he can retaliate with full combo.
- Never extended trade when his W shield is up as you'll lose the damage race against his armor stacking.
Wave Control
- Push waves hard early to force him to use mana on waveclear rather than poke, then look for roam opportunities mid-game.
- Avoid freezing as he can safely farm with Q poke and you need gold/XP advantages to stay relevant.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't use Q aggressively when his R is available as good Malphites will immediately follow up with full combo for easy kills.
- Avoid building pure damage early - you need some defensive stats or you'll get one-shot by his burst rotation.
