Who Wins
- Syndra wins pre-6 due to her superior range and ability to poke you down before you can stack Q marks safely — she can zone you off CS with her Q-E sphere throws while you lack the range to retaliate without eating damage; level 3 gives you E-Q-W engage potential but Syndra's stun at level 3 can interrupt your all-in before you cash in stacks.
- Post-6 the matchup shifts slightly in your favor if you can land a full Q stack setup into R execution, but Syndra's R can one-shot you first if she has spheres ready, so the window is narrow and requires her to be below your R threshold.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to stack Q marks from max range during Syndra's cooldown windows, then commit to E blink into W activation to cash in all stacks with enhanced attacks — do not engage without at least 2 Q stacks or you deal insufficient burst to justify the risk.
- Avoid extended trades entirely since Syndra's sustained poke and stun uptime will out-damage your W true damage self-cost before you can heal it back.
Wave Control
- Push the wave quickly with Q to force Syndra to CS under tower, which limits her sphere positioning and reduces her poke angles — a frozen wave near her tower is dangerous for you since she can freely poke while you're in range.
- Prioritize shoving and roaming post-6 to collect R souls and build execution threshold, as your R's value scales with sealed souls and Syndra will outscale you in pure lane damage if you stay even.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not activate W as a panic button when Syndra's R is available — the true damage you take during W makes you easier to execute if she follows up immediately, and you cannot reliably recast W fast enough to heal before her burst lands.
- Avoid walking up to stack Q without tracking her E cooldown, as a stun into her full combo kills you before your W heal becomes meaningful.
