Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you have a meaningful advantage through levels 1–3 because your Q poke outranges his melee kit and your E gives you a reliable escape from his W-enhanced chases; however, once he reaches level 3 with Q and W, he can sustain through your poke and close distance faster, so your window to bully him is early and requires consistent Q harassment.
  • Post-6, you lose the 1v1 if he Rs you first — his suppression denies your R entirely, so the matchup becomes about who engages first, and his W makes him faster than you in open space.

How to Trade

  • Your optimal pattern is Q poke from max range to chip his health, then E onto him only when he is below the threshold where your full combo — Q into E into R — kills or forces a flash, never as an opener into a healthy Warwick.
  • Using E aggressively on a healthy Warwick gives him exactly what he wants: a stationary target with no escape for his passive and Q healing to take over.

Wave Control

  • Freeze the wave near your tower whenever possible, as this forces him to overextend to farm and gives your E a safe escape path into tower range; a pushed wave removes your safety net and lets him walk up with W active without fear of tower aggression.
  • Use your Q to slow-push when you want to roam or when he backs, denying him a clean reset.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your R defensively after he has already landed his R on you — his R suppresses you, meaning your R cast will be interrupted and wasted if timed incorrectly, so you must either R preemptively to become untargetable before his R lands or save it for post-suppression healing denial.
  • Burning your R reactively is the single biggest mechanical mistake in this matchup.
