Who Wins

Pre-6, you win short trades by poking with Q and respecting his E gap-close — if he lands Q stacks on you and follows with E-W, his passive on-hit damage scales with your missing health, so never let him stack you below 70% without a clear escape path.
At level 3 he gains his full combo threat, which is the first real danger window, so play further back and use Q to poke from max range rather than walking up for auto-harass.

Post-6, you have a strong advantage because your R gives you a point-and-click CC that completely shuts down his W-E all-in — if he activates W and dashes onto you, you can R yourself to become untargetable and let his W true damage tick waste his own resource.
His R is a zoning/execution tool, not a direct kill setup, so as long as you don't let him seal souls and inflate his threshold, your R-into-combo burst outpaces his.

Your best trading pattern is to Q poke to chip his health, then when he commits his E blink onto you, immediately R yourself to negate his empowered auto and W damage, then reposition with your own E and follow up with W-Q to finish the trade.
Never trade in extended fights because his W gives him sustained attack speed and his passive deals more damage the lower you are — keep trades short and punish his E cooldown window.

Avoid standing still after he lands Q stacks on you, because walking up to CS or trade while marked lets him cash in all three stacks with a single E-auto for a massive burst spike.
His Q slow also makes it harder to dodge follow-up abilities, so immediately use your E to reposition the moment you see stacks accumulating rather than waiting to see if he commits.
