Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight by kiting with Q and E to maintain distance, as Volibear has no reliable gap-closer until he activates W, which you can disengage from with E's speed boost.
- From level 6, you can only secure kills if you land your R to put him to sleep first, then follow with Q and E damage while he is immobilized, because in a straight fight he will out-sustain and out-damage you at close range.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Volibear typically starts Red Buff side if on blue side, or Blue Buff if on red side, then clears toward Raptors or Wolves before contesting scuttle around 3:15–3:30.
- He favors a full clear into early gank pattern rather than early invades, so expect him at scuttle shortly after his first three camps.
Invade or Not
- You should not invade Volibear pre-level 6 because his W gives him a massive burst of attack speed and healing that will destroy you in a short-range skirmish inside a camp.
- If you want to pressure him, do it by stealing his buff at 1:30 only if you have vision confirming his starting position on the opposite side of the map.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let Volibear walk up and proc his W passive on you, as the healing and attack speed it provides will negate your poke damage and flip the trade entirely in his favor.
- Avoid standing still to auto-attack him at any point; your damage pattern must be purely ability-based while moving.
