LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win the level 2 all-in almost unconditionally if you hit E — Tahm Kench's W is the only answer and it only delays the kill rather than negating it, while Jhin has no mobility to escape your Q lockdown.
- Post-6, Jhin's R is a direct counter to your committed engage since you become a stationary target, so post-6 all-ins require Smolder to burst Jhin down before he can channel R.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best pattern is to E onto Jhin specifically — not Tahm Kench — because Jhin has no mobility and Tahm Kench's W cannot save him fast enough if your Q lands.
- Follow E+Q with your W to maximize the stun window and let Smolder's Q stacks do the kill work.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should not roam early because Tahm Kench has no wave clear and Smolder can manage the wave alone, but more importantly your kill pressure in this lane is high enough that leaving gives up free farm and safety to Jhin.
- If you do roam post-6, do it only after a successful kill or back that forces the enemy duo to reset, not proactively.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not engage when Jhin has his fourth shot loaded and is at full health — you will absorb the crit during your E animation and potentially die before Smolder can follow up.
- Avoid using R as an initiation tool in this matchup since Tahm Kench can W Jhin out of the root zone, wasting your ultimate entirely.
