Who Wins
- You win trades pre-6 through superior early game damage and mobility, but Jax becomes increasingly dangerous after level 3 when his E cooldown decreases.
- Post-6, Jax wins extended trades due to R passive attack speed and resistances, but you can still win short burst trades if you land Q.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading pattern is Q-Q-E-W back to minions for short bursts, avoiding extended fights where Jax's sustained damage shines.
- Never commit to all-ins without jungle help since Jax's E negates your auto-attack follow-up damage.
Wave Control
- Push early waves to establish level advantages and roam for plays, as you scale worse than Jax in the side lane.
- Avoid slow pushing into Jax since he can freeze and run you down with ghost/flash when his E is available.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste Q on minions when Jax has E available, as he can dodge your Q2 engage and counter-trade favorably.
- Avoid fighting in extended trades after level 6 unless you have a significant item or level advantage.
