Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win most trades at level 2 once you have Q and W, as your burst combo outdamages Xin Zhao's sustained pattern before he can stack his passive or proc his W heal.
- However, if Xin Zhao lands his E knock-up on you before you dash away, he can chain his full combo and the trade becomes much closer than expected, especially if he has ignite.
How to Trade
- Post-6, you decisively win the 1v1 if you land your full R(W)-Q-W-E-R(E) combo, as the burst exceeds Xin Zhao's HP before his sustain and W healing become relevant.
- The danger is that Xin Zhao's E knock-up interrupts your W dash mid-animation, which can strand you in melee range and negate your escape tool entirely.
Wave Control
- Your optimal trading pattern is to poke with Q from max range to apply the mark, then immediately follow with W to detonate it and deal the full burst before retreating with W's return.
- Avoid committing your W forward unless Xin Zhao is already below 60% HP or you have R available, because burning W for a partial trade leaves you immobile and vulnerable to his all-in.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use W aggressively into Xin Zhao when he has his E available, as his knock-up will interrupt your dash and prevent the W return, trapping you in his melee range.
- This is the single most common way LeBlanc players lose this matchup — treating W as a guaranteed escape when Xin Zhao's E timing counters it directly.
