Who Wins
- You win levels 1-3 through superior base stats and W passive damage in extended trades, but Varus can poke you down with Q before all-ins.
- At level 6, you gain a significant advantage with R engage potential that Varus cannot match without jungle assistance.
How to Trade
- Look for Q engage when Varus uses abilities on minions, then commit fully with W auto attacks and E to stick to him through his mobility.
- Your trading windows are when his Q is down or when you can force extended fights where your sustained damage outscales his burst.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to establish priority and deny Varus safe farming, but be prepared to thin waves and avoid overextending when he has Q poke available.
- After level 6, maintain slow pushes to set up R engages while keeping the wave in positions where you can run him down the lane.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't get poked down to dismount range before committing to trades, as Varus can easily finish you off while dismounted with his range advantage.
- Avoid using E aggressively without Q setup, as you'll be stuck in melee range without gap closers if he maintains distance.
