LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose the extended poke war against Jayce — his range and Q-E combo will consistently chip you down before you can get in range to trade effectively, and level 1-2 are particularly rough since you have no reliable gap close.
- At level 3 your all-in becomes more threatening if you land Q to pull him into W passive autos, but Jayce's hammer E still lets him disengage cleanly, so you need to bait it out first.
- Post-6, your R is a game-changer because it closes the range gap that Jayce relies on and the shield gives you durability to survive his burst combo — if you land your R onto him and he has no E available, you win the extended fight through W passive and your tankier item build.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to bait Jayce's hammer E by walking up aggressively, then once it's on cooldown, use your own E to close the gap and force a melee trade where your W passive autos deal significant damage.
- You want trades to last as long as possible because your W passive scales well with your tanky build stats and Jayce has no sustain to match you in a prolonged exchange — short trades favor him, long trades favor you.
Wave Control
- You should avoid letting Jayce freely shove the wave, as a pushed wave under your tower limits your engage angles and gives him safe poke windows.
- Instead, try to match his push or contest the wave in the middle of the lane so you have space to walk up and threaten trades, which forces him to respect your presence rather than freely poking.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your R from long range as a pure engage tool without confirming Jayce has already used his cannon E — he can simply E away from your R path and reset the entire situation, leaving you with a long cooldown and no kill pressure.
- Additionally, avoid fighting Jayce while dismounted unless you are very close to 100 Courage, because his ranged poke in cannon form will kill you before you can remount, and the bonus resistances from your passive do not compensate for his sustained ranged damage.
