Scuttle Contest
- You lose scuttle fights at level 3 because Volibear's Q stun and W healing give him significant advantages in extended trades.
- From level 6, you only win 1v1s when you can isolate him from minions/monsters and burst him before he can land Q, requiring evolved Q and proper positioning to avoid his engage.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Volibear typically starts bot side for a healthy clear and will look to contest scuttle or invade your jungle around level 3-4.
- He tends to path aggressively toward your side of the jungle after his initial clear, especially if he spots you on wards.
Invade or Not
- You should not invade Volibear early as he wins most direct confrontations and has better sustain for jungle skirmishes.
- Instead, focus on counter-jungling his camps when he shows on the opposite side of the map, particularly after level 6 when you have better escape tools.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Avoid fighting Volibear in open areas without isolation damage, as his base stats and sustain will overwhelm you in extended trades.
- Don't engage him when your E is on cooldown, as you need the escape tool to avoid his Q stun and prevent him from running you down with his superior movement speed.
