Who Wins
- Xerath wins pre-6 through superior range and poke damage, forcing you into unfavorable trades whenever you approach the wave.
- Post-6 you gain kill pressure if you can successfully engage, but Xerath's E stun and range advantage still make direct fights difficult without proper setup.
How to Trade
- Look for short trades using Q-E-W combo when Xerath uses abilities on minions, then immediately retreat to avoid his retaliation.
- Your best trading windows occur when his E is on cooldown, as this removes his primary self-peel tool.
Wave Control
- Allow Xerath to push early levels and focus on farming safely near your tower where his poke is less effective.
- Once you hit level 6, look to freeze the wave just outside your tower range to create longer lanes for all-ins.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't attempt extended trades in the open lane where Xerath can kite you with his range advantage.
- Avoid using E aggressively without vision of the enemy jungler, as you'll be extremely vulnerable to ganks with no escape tool.
