LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, Malzahar wins the 1v1 consistently due to his ranged Q harass and W zone control that punishes your melee-range dagger pickups; post-6, you can theoretically burst him if you land a clean all-in before he reacts, but his R hard counters your R and any hesitation means you die mid-combo.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to bait his Q and W onto minions or wait for them to be on cooldown, then E onto a dagger, auto, Q, reset with another E pickup — but this window is extremely narrow and Malzahar's passive shield absorbs your first damage instance, resetting your burst timing.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave quickly to deny him free W stacks on the wave and force him to last-hit under pressure, but be cautious about overextending without vision since Malzahar's waveclear also sets up roam-denial by keeping you in lane with poke damage.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt to all-in while his passive shield is active — it absorbs your E trigger or Q and wastes your combo window entirely, and do not try to fight through his R with your own R since his suppression interrupts your reset chain and you will die before dealing meaningful damage.
