Who Wins
- You lose pre-6 to Jayce's superior range and poke, but can win short trades if you land Q into W combo and use passive effectively.
- Post-6 you gain significant kill pressure with R, especially if Jayce is below 70% HP and overextends.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is landing Q, then immediately following with W for the shield and damage, using your passive stacks to win the extended trade.
- Only engage when Jayce is in hammer form or has used his ranged Q, as his poke damage is too high otherwise.
Wave Control
- You want to freeze the wave near your tower early to avoid constant poke, then look for slow pushes when you have item advantages or jungle pressure.
- Use your Q to last-hit from range when possible and avoid letting Jayce poke you down while you CS.
Mistakes to Avoid
