Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior range and poke with Q in cannon form, but Malphite's passive shield and Q slow can make trades awkward if you're not careful with positioning.
- Post-6 you still have the advantage in extended trades, but his R engage threat forces you to respect all-ins and maintain distance.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is Q poke in cannon form followed by hammer form E-Q-W combo when Malphite's passive is down and he's low enough for an all-in.
- Always look to proc your W passive in hammer form during extended trades, but disengage before his Q slow can set up jungle ganks.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to establish range advantage and deny Malphite farm, but transition to freezing once he gets armor items and becomes harder to kill.
- Keep the wave on your side of the river post-6 to avoid his R engage setups with jungle pressure.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste your hammer form E defensively unless absolutely necessary, as it's your main gap closer for finishing kills.
- Avoid staying in hammer form too long against his Q slow, as you become vulnerable to ganks and can't maintain your range advantage.
