Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Naafiri has a meaningful level 1–2 advantage because her passive packmates provide extra bodies that punish your Q-in attempts before you have E to mitigate damage; once you hit level 3 with Q+W+E, you can trade more confidently by E-ing her burst window, but she still wins extended all-ins pre-6 if her packmates are alive.
  • Post-6, your R gives you enough durability and damage to win sustained all-ins, especially if you bait out her R first and then engage with Q into E into R, as her burst becomes insufficient to kill you through the shield.

How to Trade

  • Your best pattern is to wait for Naafiri to commit her Q dash or her packmates to lunge, then immediately E to negate the follow-up burst, and trade with W active to maximize damage during her cooldown window.
  • Avoid short trades where she can proc her passive stacks and disengage freely — you want to extend the fight long enough for your W and R to outscale her burst.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave early to deny her roam potential and force her to farm under tower, where her packmates are less effective in tight spaces and she cannot freely poke you with Q.
  • Once you have a lead, freezing near your tower is risky because her all-in with packmates can still punish you; instead, maintain a slow push to keep her occupied and deny her the roam windows she needs to impact the map.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not blindly Q onto Naafiri when her packmates are full health and off cooldown — this is the single biggest mistake Jax players make, as the combined burst from her and the packmates will chunk you before your E can save you.
  • Always check packmate status before engaging; if they are dead or on cooldown, that is your window to trade or all-in.
