Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior trading tools and sustain, as your E blocks Yi's auto attacks while your W provides magic damage and sustain.
- Post-6 you maintain advantage since your R gives defensive stats and your E still negates much of Yi's damage output during his R.
How to Trade
- Use E proactively when Yi approaches, then Q onto him during the stun to land W and additional autos before backing off.
- Your trading pattern revolves around E cooldown windows - only take extended trades when it's available.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to establish priority, then maintain a slow push or freeze near your tower to force Yi into overextending for CS.
- You want to avoid letting Yi free farm since he scales well, but also avoid hard shoving without vision.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste E defensively after Yi has already started auto attacking you - the damage reduction is minimal compared to the dodge component.
- Avoid trading when your E is on cooldown as Yi can run you down with his superior sustained damage and Q mobility.
