Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you win most trades through Q poke and sustain, with level 2-3 being particularly strong when you have Q-W combo available.
  • Post-6 you dominate 1v1s if you land E before ulting, as the spirit damage combined with tentacle slams is overwhelming.

How to Trade

  • Your optimal trading pattern is landing E to grab spirit, then W-Q combo on both the spirit and Shen if possible.
  • If E misses, use Q for poke and sustain while maintaining tentacle positioning around the wave.

Wave Control

  • Push waves aggressively to establish tentacle control around the lane, forcing Shen to farm under tower where he's more vulnerable to E pulls.
  • Control the area around river bushes with tentacles to limit his roaming potential.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't waste R without landing E first, as Shen can simply W your tentacle damage and walk away from your ultimate zone.
  • Avoid fighting in areas without tentacle setup as your damage drops significantly.
