Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose to Tristana's range advantage and her E passive stacking damage if she plays correctly, but at level 2 you can look for an aggressive Q trade if she overextends to last-hit, since your W and passive regeneration let you absorb poke better than most melees; post-6, your R gives you a meaningful kill threat if you can land Q into a full combo, but Tristana's R knockback hard-counters your all-in by resetting your position and her E bomb deals massive burst if she has stacks built up.
How to Trade
- Your best trade pattern is to absorb one or two ranged autos, then close the gap with Q to silence her and prevent E placement, immediately activating W to reduce incoming damage while your E passive shreds her armor; the key is committing fully once you engage, because a half-hearted trade lets her kite you, stack E, and win the extended fight.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave into her tower early to deny her safe farming range and force her to stand closer to minions, reducing her ability to freely poke you; once you have a level lead or she has used her W, look to freeze near your tower where her short-range auto-attacks become less effective and she risks getting caught by your Q dash.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not walk up repeatedly to trade without your Q available, because each unanswered auto-attack from her builds E stacks that will explode for significant damage and potentially kill you in an extended fight; also avoid using R on her when she has her R available, as she will simply knock you back and negate your burst window entirely.
