Who Wins

  • You lose most early all-ins if Riven gets on top of you, especially levels 1-3 where her damage combo is strongest relative to your health pool.
  • Post-6 you can match her kill pressure with barrel combos and have better teamfight impact, but still lose extended 1v1s in side lanes.

How to Trade

  • Your trading pattern revolves around Q poke when she uses abilities on minions, then immediately placing a barrel to zone her from engaging.
  • If she commits with E, you can W the stun, auto for passive, then Q for the slow to disengage safely.

Wave Control

  • You want to maintain the wave in the center or slightly pushed to have barrel placement options while avoiding long lane scenarios.
  • Use Q to last hit and poke simultaneously, building a slow push when she's low to force her off CS or create dive opportunities with your jungler.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't place barrels predictably or too close to her, as she can easily destroy them with her mobility and fast animations.
  • Getting caught without barrels up or W available makes you completely vulnerable to her full combo rotation.
