Who Wins

  • You lose pre-6 trades due to Xerath's superior range and poke damage, but can start looking for all-ins at level 3 with Q-W-E combo if he mispositions.
  • Post-6 you win all-ins decisively with R-Q-W-E burst combo that can 100-0 him through his barrier.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to E onto him when he uses Q or W, then immediately W-auto-Q out to minimize his retaliation damage.
  • Wait for his abilities to be on cooldown before committing to longer trades, as his full combo outdamages yours early.

Wave Control

  • Push the first few waves to hit level 3 first, then look to freeze near your tower to create all-in opportunities when he steps up.
  • After level 6, you can afford to push and roam since you can easily escape ganks with E.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't use E aggressively without tracking the enemy jungler, as you'll have no escape and Xerath can easily set up ganks with his E stun.
  • Avoid taking free poke by respecting his Q range and don't try to trade when your abilities are on cooldown.
