  • You lose pre-6 due to Ryze's superior range and wave control, forced to take poke while farming under pressure.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is E onto Ryze when he steps up for CS or abilities, then immediately Q through him for the reset and W auto for maximum burst damage.
  • Use E's untargetability to dodge his W root, then commit fully to the trade since you can't win poke wars.

Wave Control

  • Focus on last-hitting under tower and looking for roam opportunities rather than trying to match Ryze's push, as he will always out-waveclear you early.
  • Once you hit 6, look to set up all-ins with R from fog of war or coordinate with your jungler for guaranteed kills.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't use E aggressively without kill potential as it's your only escape tool and Ryze can easily punish you during the long cooldown.
  • Avoid trading in large minion waves where Ryze can spread E flux for massive damage, instead look for isolated fights in river or jungle.
