Who Wins

  • You win pre-6 trades if you can get on top of Varus, but his range advantage makes this difficult in the early levels.
  • Post-6 you have a significant advantage once you land W to block his poke and can all-in with R.

How to Trade

  • Look for short trades using Q to proc vitals then immediately back off to avoid his W proc damage.
  • Extended trades favor you only if you can stick to him and avoid eating multiple Q's while chasing.

Wave Control

  • Keep the wave closer to your side to limit his ability to poke you freely and set up ganks.
  • Freezing near your tower forces him to overextend for CS, making him vulnerable to your all-ins.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't chase him through minion waves early game as his Q damage is amplified and you'll take too much minion damage.
  • Avoid using W reactively to his Q poke - save it for when you're committing to an all-in to block his E or R.
