Who Wins
- Pre-6 you lose trades due to Jayce's range advantage and poke damage, but can start winning short trades at level 3 when you have Q-W-E for gap closing and parrying his E knockback.
- Post-6 you win extended all-ins if you can get on top of him, as your R provides sustain and damage that he cannot match in melee range.
How to Trade
- Look for short trades using Q to proc vitals then immediately back off, and save W to parry his melee E knockback when he tries to all-in you.
- Extended trades favor you only if you can stick to him, so use Q resets and movement speed from vitals to maintain gap closure.
Wave Control
- Let him push early levels since you cannot contest his poke, then look to freeze near your tower where you can run him down with jungle assistance.
- Once you have items and levels, you can start slow pushing to build minion advantages for all-ins.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't try to parry his ranged Q poke as it's too fast and predictable, instead save W for his melee form E or his ranged E when you're engaging.
- Avoid taking extended trades in open areas where he can kite you with his range and mobility.
