Who Wins
- Pre-6 you win most sustained trades because W drains for significant damage and healing while silencing your opponent, making it nearly impossible for Yone to out-damage you in extended fights; post-6 the matchup becomes more volatile since Yone's R lets him engage from range and burst you before your drain completes, so you must respect his all-in potential.
How to Trade
- Your best pattern is to walk up and immediately begin W on Yone, forcing him to either take the full drain or burn his E to interrupt it; if he interrupts with E, back off and wait for it to come off cooldown before re-engaging, as without E he cannot safely stop your drain.
Wave Control
- Let the wave push toward you naturally so you can drain trade from a safe position near your tower, where Yone cannot freely all-in without risking tower damage; use Q to last-hit efficiently and avoid shoving the wave, which would give Yone a favorable all-in angle with a crashing wave behind him.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt to W a Yone who still has E available and is at close range, because he will interrupt the channel immediately and then win the short trade with his burst; also avoid using R aggressively in lane without vision control, as Yone's team can collapse on you during the long channel animation.
