Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Ekko.
  • He has a dash, a shield from his W, and reliable burst from his Q passive, while you have no mobility and your fear requires you to stand still channeling — Ekko will simply walk out of your E range or interrupt your W drain before it deals meaningful damage.
  • From level 6, you can only win a 1v1 if you land your R as a surprise engage from fog of war with full setup; if Ekko sees you coming or has his R available, he will survive your burst and kill you with his own R reset.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Ekko typically runs a full clear starting Red Buff side (Red → Raptors → Wolves → Blue → Gromp) or Blue side into a level 3 gank on a priority lane.
  • He clears fast and looks for early skirmishes around Scuttle at level 3, so expect him to contest the first Scuttle aggressively and then transition into repeated gank pressure on overextended lanes.

Invade or Not

  • You should not invade Ekko early.
  • He out-duels you at every pre-6 stage, and if he catches you in his jungle without your R, you die with no escape tool.
  • The only viable proactive play is a counter-jungle after you confirm his location on the opposite side of the map — steal his buff camp quickly and retreat before he can respond.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not attempt to W drain Ekko in an open fight expecting it to win the trade; he will dash out of range with his E, reset with his R if low, and you will have wasted your primary damage tool on a partial channel.
  • Always position in brush or fog of war and use your R as the initiation, not as a follow-up after he already knows you are there.
