Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Jarvan IV if he lands his Q-E combo, as you have no hard CC or defensive ability to interrupt his knockup and his passive armor shred combined with burst damage exceeds your damage output before you have your W stealth.
- From level 6 onward, you win a 1v1 only if you engage from stealth with full E empowered damage, use your W slow to stick to him, and kite his Q-E by staying at the edge of his E flag range — if he lands the full combo and uses R to cage you, you will likely lose unless you are significantly ahead.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Jarvan IV typically runs a full clear starting Red or Blue into Raptors, hitting level 3 fast and looking for early scuttle or an aggressive invade around 3:15–3:30, so expect him to contest your second buff or your Raptors camp before you reach level 6 stealth.
Invade or Not
- You should not invade Jarvan IV before level 6 under any circumstance, as he wins that direct fight cleanly with his Q-E knockup and you have no stealth or reliable escape tool.
- After level 6, you can look to counter-gank or invade his isolated camps when you have vision of his position, but avoid his jungle entirely if his location is unknown since he can collapse on you with teammates.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt to fight Jarvan IV in a narrow jungle corridor or near walls, because his R creates an impassable terrain that completely negates your mobility and forces you into a sustained fight where his armor shred and CC uptime will outlast your burst if you do not kill him immediately.
