Who Wins
- Pre-6, Syndra wins most extended trades due to her range advantage and consistent poke with Q; you cannot reliably all-in her before level 6 because she can zone you with W and Q before you close the gap, and her damage output at levels 1-3 exceeds yours if she plays aggressively.
- Post-6, the matchup flips significantly in your favor — your R gives you a burst-reset tool that Syndra cannot reliably react to, and a well-executed E-into-R combo can kill her through her passive shield if you are ahead or even.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to bait out her W, then immediately dash in with E to proc your passive shield before committing to a full trade — without her W available, her burst window is significantly reduced and you can survive the exchange.
- Never trade into her when she has a sphere on the ground ready to stun; wait for the W cooldown, then engage with E, auto-Q-auto to stack your passive, and disengage or finish with R if she is low enough.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave quickly with Q to deny her free poke while you are under minion pressure, then look to roam or reset — sitting in a slow push against Syndra just gives her free Q harass on you while you are cs'ing.
- If you are behind, freeze near your tower to deny her dive angle and force her to overextend for cs, which opens a gap-close opportunity with E when she steps up.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use E aggressively as your primary engage tool without your passive shield ready — Syndra's stun into full combo will kill you if you dash in without the shield active, and you will have no escape.
- Avoid standing still after your E dash; Syndra players will pre-aim W-Q stun on your landing position, so always move unpredictably after closing the gap.
