Who Wins
- Pre-6, Rengar wins most extended trades due to his burst combo and empowered abilities resetting quickly; you cannot out-trade him early because your Q is easy to dodge and your W self-damage makes you vulnerable when low.
- Post-6, you become significantly harder to kill as your R provides a massive HP shield and regeneration, but Rengar can still burst you before R fully heals you if he has lethality items.
How to Trade
- Your best pattern is to absorb short trades by walking away with W active to reduce damage taken, then re-engage once your passive HP regeneration and W have restored your health.
- Force Rengar into extended fights near minions where your Q can zone him and your sustained regeneration outlasts his burst window.
Wave Control
- Push the wave consistently to deny Rengar bush access and reduce his ability to proc his passive for empowered abilities; a pushed wave forces him to farm under tower, limiting his aggressive windows.
- Use your Q to poke him off CS under tower and accelerate the wave to create pressure without overextending into his burst range.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand near bushes at low HP thinking your R will save you — Rengar can leap from brush and chain his full burst combo before your R regeneration becomes meaningful.
- Avoid using W offensively early; it costs HP and reduces your effective health, giving Rengar an easier kill window.
