Who Wins
- You lose pre-6 due to Mel's range advantage and lack of gap closers, forced to take Q poke while farming.
- Post-6 you win all-ins if you land Q, but must respect her W timing as it can reflect your Q back and deny your engage completely.
How to Trade
- Focus on farming safely and look for Q angles when Mel uses abilities on minions or steps forward predictably.
- When engaging post-6, try to bait out her W first with a fake engage, then use your actual Q-R combo when it's on cooldown.
Wave Control
- Accept being pushed in early and focus on not falling too far behind in CS while looking for jungle assistance.
- Once you hit 6, look for roam opportunities when Mel recalls or overextends, as your mobility advantage becomes significant.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't try to trade early levels as you'll lose every extended trade due to range disadvantage and her passive damage.
- Avoid using Q predictably when her W is available, as getting your engage tool reflected back creates a terrible position where she can follow up with E root.
