Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you win this lane convincingly from level 1 onward because your E pull range is longer than Zed's safe poke distance and your W slow makes it nearly impossible for him to disengage once you close; at level 3 with Q, W, and E available you can force a kill or burn his flash on almost every trade.
  • Post-6 you remain the 1v1 winner as long as you do not let him R you at full HP with zero stacks, so the key is keeping passive stacks refreshed to deny his clean assassination window.

How to Trade

  • Your best pattern is to walk up and bait his Q poke, then immediately E him when he steps forward or uses his shadow aggressively, apply W to slow his escape, and auto-Q-auto to stack passive to 5 before he can disengage; the bleed alone will often finish him if he flashes away.

Wave Control

  • You want to slow-push the wave into his tower to force him to last-hit under pressure, which limits his ability to roam and keeps him in your E range; do not let him shove and roam freely because his R kill pressure on other lanes is far more impactful than yours.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not chase him through his W shadow repositions across the map or into jungle terrain where he controls the angle, because you will waste E on a shadow or miss W and he will reset the trade entirely; force fights in the lane corridor where your E pull has a clear path to his actual body.
