Who Wins
- Pre-6 you lose most trades due to Illaoi's superior sustain and damage output with Q spam.
- Post-6 you can win all-ins if you dodge E and use R to avoid her R damage, but mistiming either ability results in death.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is E-W-Q1-Q2 then immediately disengage before she can retaliate with Q or W.
- Never extend trades as her sustain and damage will overwhelm you in longer exchanges.
Wave Control
- Keep the wave frozen near your tower to force Illaoi to overextend for farm, making her vulnerable to ganks.
- Avoid pushing as she can easily clear waves with Q and becomes ungankable under her tower with tentacles.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never fight in areas with multiple tentacles as her damage becomes exponentially higher.
- Don't get hit by E as the spirit mechanic allows her to chunk you heavily even if you disengage immediately.
