- Pre-6 you have strong kill pressure with Q hooks, but Mel's W can reflect your Q back and her poke makes trades unfavorable.
- Post-6 your all-in remains strong but Mel's global R and better teamfight presence shifts power balance.
Synergy & Trading
- Land Q on either enemy then immediately E and R for maximum disruption while Jhin follows with W root and damage.
- Use brush positioning to threaten hooks while avoiding Mel's Q poke and E root zones.
Wave Control/Roaming
- Roam after successful recalls or when Jhin can safely farm alone, targeting mid lane around levels 6-9 when your hook threat is highest.
- Time roams when Mel uses Q for waveclear and has limited mana for defensive abilities.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never hook when Mel's W barrier is active as the reflection will pull her toward you instead, potentially setting up their engage.
