Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Ambessa if she plays aggressively — her Q burst and W empowered auto deal more front-loaded damage than your early DPS before you have meaningful stacks.
  • From level 6, you win the 1v1 by kiting with your E dashes to maintain distance, using W to slow her approach, and letting your passive attack speed shred her while she struggles to stick to you without burning all Q charges.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Ambessa will typically start on the side of the map with the first scuttle spawn, clearing Raptors or Krugs into Wolves or Gromp to hit level 3 quickly and contest scuttle.
  • She will look for early skirmishes and invades because her kit is designed for short, explosive fights — expect her to be aggressive at 3:15–3:45 around river or your second buff.

Invade or Not

  • You should generally avoid invading Ambessa early because she wins short trades at levels 2–4 with her Q reset burst.
  • Instead, counter-jungle her after she commits to a gank or a fight — when she is low and her Q is on cooldown, you can safely take her camps.
  • If you do invade, do it at 4:30–5:00 when you have more stacks and can sustain through her burst with your passive healing from kills.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not stand still and auto-attack Ambessa when she has full Q charges available — she will dash through you, reset, and burst you down before your attack speed ramp can save you.
  • Avoid fighting her in tight jungle corridors where your E dashes are limited, as your kiting pattern is your primary survival tool and losing that space turns the matchup heavily in her favor.
