Who Wins
- You lose early trades due to Azir's superior range and poke with Q-auto combos, but gain kill pressure post-6 when your R allows you to gap close through his soldier wall.
- Your level 3 spike with full combo access helps even trades slightly, but Azir still controls the lane tempo.
How to Trade
- Look for short trades using E to gap close, Q for damage, then W to disengage before Azir can retaliate with extended soldier autos.
- Avoid extended trades where his sustained DPS with soldiers will out-damage your burst rotation.
Wave Control
- Push early waves to prevent Azir from freely scaling, but be prepared to give up CS when he establishes soldier control around level 4-5.
- Focus on roaming opportunities since you can't consistently pressure him in lane after early levels.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't try to all-in without your R unless Azir is significantly low, as his E-Q escape combo and R knockback make him very difficult to finish.
- Avoid fighting in areas where he has multiple soldiers positioned, as his zone control will heavily favor extended trades.
