Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior range advantage and Bard's Q setup potential against Smolder's short range.
- Post-6 becomes more dangerous due to Maokai's engage threat, but you maintain advantage through R picks and better teamfight positioning.
Synergy & Trading
- Use your range to harass Smolder when he steps up for CS, and coordinate with Bard Q when enemies are near minions for easy stuns.
- Your W should be used to slow retreating enemies after Bard lands CC or to kite back from Maokai engages.
Wave Control/Roaming
- Maintain slow pushes to keep Smolder under tower and deny his stack generation, but avoid hard shoving when Maokai is missing.
- Look to crash waves and recall when you have item advantages to maintain your power spike timing.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't position aggressively when Maokai has W available and flash up, as his engage range is deceptively long.
- Avoid using R carelessly as it's your primary self-peel tool against his all-in potential.
