Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win short trades if you land your stun into Q or W, but Zed's range on his Q and his ability to poke from distance without committing means he can chip you down safely before you stack passive — post-6, you lose the 1v1 unless you land R immediately on his arrival, because his R burst with ignite will kill you before your shield from E matters.
How to Trade
- Your best trade is to pre-stack your passive to 3 charges, bait Zed into a shadow commitment, then instantly stun him with your next ability and follow with W for maximum burst — never trade without your stun ready, as your damage without it is too slow to punish him before he disengages.
Wave Control
- Push the wave hard with W to deny Zed his preferred poke range and force him to farm under tower, where his Q farming is less efficient — a shoved wave also reduces the window he has to safely harass you, since he must respect the minion aggro when diving forward.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not hold your R as a pure damage combo extender — use it proactively the moment he uses R on you, because if you wait to react after his burst lands, you will already be too low or dead to follow up meaningfully.
