Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Fizz wins almost every extended trade due to his E making your Q and E nearly impossible to land reliably, and his W passive shredding through your passive egg if he commits; post-6, your R gives you a reliable long-range slow to set up Q, and your egg passive forces him to spend more resources finishing you, but he can still burst you before you fully utilize your kit if he has ignite.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to poke with E from max range, and only throw Q when Fizz has already used his E on a minion or has the cooldown visible, since landing Q into E follow-up is your primary damage window and missing Q into an E-active Fizz is a losing trade.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave consistently with E to deny Fizz short-trade opportunities in the minion wave, as a frozen or slow-pushed wave near his tower forces him to farm under pressure and reduces his ability to all-in you with minion assistance; building up a large wave to crash also gives you safe recall windows.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not attempt to fight Fizz when his E is up and you have no wall or terrain to force him to path around your Q, because throwing abilities into his E dodge wastes your entire combo and leaves you vulnerable to his full rotation with no defensive tools remaining.
