Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you land your E dash into Q combo to proc your passive repeatedly — your burst window is short but decisive, and Shaco struggles to trade back if he cannot land his Q blink behind you to reset the engagement.
  • At level 6, you win a sustained 1v1 if you force the fight in an open area where Shaco cannot use terrain to reposition after his Q, since your passive stacks and repeated Q dashes will outdamage his clone pressure if you stay aggressive and do not let him disengage.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Shaco almost always starts Red Buff side (bottom side) and clears Red → Raptors → Krugs or Red → Krugs → Raptors before looking for an early gank or invade around level 3, using his Q to appear in unexpected positions.
  • Expect him to prioritize bot lane ganks early due to his Q approach angle advantage, and watch for him crossing through river bushes or pixel brush to avoid wards.

Invade or Not

  • You should invade Shaco's Blue Buff side at approximately 3:15–3:30 if you started on the opposite side, as Shaco will likely be finishing his second or third camp and his Q will be on cooldown after clearing.
  • Invading his Red side is riskier because he often places a W box near Red Buff as a trap, so approach from an unexpected angle or avoid it entirely unless you have vision.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not chase Shaco into unwarded jungle or bushes after he uses his Q to disengage — his W boxes will proc fear and reset the fight entirely in his favor, and you will waste your E and Q cooldowns on a repositioned clone.
  • Committing too deep without vision control is your most common losing pattern in this matchup.
