Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you land your E dash to close the gap and chain Q autos to proc your passive repeatedly, as your sustained damage output and mobility outpace Rengar's burst window when he has no stacks.
  • From level 6, you win the 1v1 by forcing extended trades rather than letting Rengar reset with his W heal; use your E to dodge his empowered Q and keep auto-attacking to stack passive, as his burst is front-loaded and you out-sustain him in prolonged fights.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Rengar will almost always start Red Buff side (Red > Krugs > Raptors or Red > Raptors > Wolves) to stack his Ferocity quickly and look for an early gank on a squishy lane, often reaching level 3 slightly faster than standard due to his passive camp bonus.
  • Expect him to prioritize lanes with easy CC setup and to avoid early jungle fights unless he has full Ferocity stacked.

Invade or Not

  • You should invade Rengar at his second buff around 3:15–3:30 if you know his starting side, because at that point he has burned Ferocity on camps and cannot instantly burst you with a stacked empowered Q.
  • Target his Blue Buff if he started Red, as catching him between camps without stacks is the window where your sustained damage and mobility give you a clear advantage.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not walk into brush or narrow jungle corridors carelessly, because Rengar's passive gives him a free leap from brush and his stacked empowered Q can delete a significant portion of your HP before you can respond with your own combo.
  • Avoid fighting him when he has 4–5 Ferocity stacks, as that is his entire win condition in a short trade.
