Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight against Malphite if you engage with your E dash to close the gap and weave Q procs between autos, as Malphite has no mobility to escape your burst window and his damage output is low before items.
- From level 6, your sure win condition is to engage when Malphite is below 60% HP and has no armor items completed — you must use E to dodge his Q slow, chain your Q resets aggressively, and kill him before his passive shield regenerates, as a fully shielded Malphite with Sunfire or Iceborn will out-sustain your burst.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Malphite will almost certainly run a full clear starting at his buff closest to your side, then proceed through his camps in a standard 3-camp clear before contesting scuttle, as he has no incentive to invade early given his weak pre-6 dueling.
- Expect him to prioritize farming safely and stacking armor items rather than making aggressive plays before his R is available.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Malphite at his second buff (the one opposite his starting camp) around the 3:15–3:30 mark when he is likely finishing his second or third camp, as his clear is slow and he will be low HP without sustain.
- However, only commit to this invade if you have a clear health advantage and vision — Malphite's Q slow can cripple your escape if his jungler pathing is misread.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let Malphite's passive shield regenerate between trades — if you engage and fail to kill him quickly, backing off and re-engaging gives him a free shield reset that dramatically reduces your damage output.
- Avoid extended fights near his team or when he has Iceborn Gauntlet completed, as the AoE slow from his empowered autos will neutralize your mobility and make you a stationary target.
