Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you land your E dash to close the gap and chain your Q procs efficiently, as Briar's W frenzy is dangerous but your burst window between her W activations can be exploited with precise Q stacking.
- At level 6, you need to bait out her W before committing to a full trade, then use your mobility to stay on top of her during her vulnerable window between ability uses, as your sustained Q-empowered damage outpaces her if she cannot freely channel her W.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Briar almost always starts Red Buff and paths through Raptors or Krugs into Scuttle, relying on her W sustain to clear efficiently without backing.
- Expect her to look for an early gank or invade after her first clear, as she snowballs heavily off early kills and her W gives her enough sustain to stay healthy through aggressive pathing.
Invade or Not
- You should invade her Blue Buff side at level 2 if you start Red, as Briar's clear without Red Buff is weaker and she has no reliable escape before level 3.
- Catching her between camps with your E gap-close and Q burst can force a flash or secure a kill, but avoid invading post-level 3 when her W sustain is fully online and she can out-trade you in a prolonged fight.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let Briar freely channel her W on you in a sustained fight without using your E to reposition, as standing still against her W frenzy will drain your health faster than your Q procs can compensate.
- Avoid overcommitting to a fight near her jungle camps where she has terrain to pin you against, as her W knockback and bleed synergize with cornered positioning.
