Who Wins

  • You lose pre-6 trades due to Vel'Koz's superior range and poke damage with Q-W combo.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is E-W-Q when he steps up for CS or uses abilities, then immediately back off to avoid his retaliation.
  • Never try to extended trade without landing E first, as his sustained damage output is much higher than yours.

Wave Control

  • Push early waves with Q to establish priority, then look for roam timings when he's farming under tower.
  • Avoid getting frozen on since his range advantage becomes oppressive when you can't access minions safely.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't use R aggressively without vision of enemy jungler, as you become extremely vulnerable to ganks when your escape is on cooldown.
  • Never try to face-tank his full combo even with R charges available, as his true damage passive will chunk you heavily.
