Who Wins
- You dominate levels 1-3 with superior range and Q poke, easily winning short trades while staying out of Aatrox's Q range.
- At level 6, the matchup becomes significantly more dangerous as Aatrox's R gives him gap-closing potential that can negate your R mobility if used poorly.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern involves Q poke when Aatrox goes for CS, then immediately backing away to avoid his Q retaliation.
- When he uses E aggressively, you can W-E combo for significant damage since he's committed to a forward position and can't easily disengage.
Wave Control
- You should maintain wave control through constant Q poke and last-hitting, keeping the wave in the center or slightly on your side.
- This positioning allows you to poke safely while having escape routes, and prevents Aatrox from building the large minion waves he needs for successful all-ins.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never use R carelessly for poke or minor trades, as Aatrox's R cooldown is much shorter and he can easily punish you when your escape is down.
- You must also avoid face-checking brushes or fighting in tight spaces where Aatrox's Q sweetspots become much easier to land.
